Base Location: For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations and you'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in the office Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness

The role
As a Regulation Portfolio Analyst at SSEN Transmission, you will join the portfolio function of the Regulation team and play a key role in delivering long term forecast projections for major strategic net zero activity in the north of Scotland. In this role, you will contribute directly to the close out of RIIO‑T2 performance and take a central role in tracking and reporting for RIIO‑T3. RIIO stands for ‘Revenue = Incentives + Innovation + Outputs’ and is the framework applied by Ofgem to ensure that network companies provide a safe, reliable service at a fair price to consumers.
You will
* Contribute to SSEN Transmission's strategic thinking on the transition to net‑zero by supporting the analysis of business performance against regulatory deliverables and playing a key role in delivering long term forecast projections.
* Support the completion of regulatory submissions and the associated interface with the regulator, which will involve extensive engagement with technical, financial and engineering specialists.
* Implement and manage business processes to enable business‑wide reporting of key regulatory metrics relating to the RIIO‑T2 and RIIO‑T3 price control.
* Lead the production of issue‑specific RIIO portfolio related reports and communications (i.e. annual reports and internal project‑specific commercial reporting).
You have
* A proactive and innovative working approach and positive influencing skills with the ability to find answers within a diverse, engineering‑focused organisation.
* Knowledge of the electricity industry and the challenges associated with the journey to net‑zero would be beneficial.
* Advanced research and analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative, and data modelling experience are essential.
* Ability to handle and analyse large quantities of data and experience in establishing, communicating and presenting well‑reasoned conclusions, proposals and recommendations based upon multiple data sources to Senior Management is essential.
* Qualified to degree level in a finance/mathematical/economics discipline, or relevant experience.
