This role offers a strategic, autonomous position to lead a payroll transformation project, with a scope of 9-12 months and potential extension. You will be responsible for managing a 1,000-person payroll, working closely with senior finance, and overseeing outsourcing initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
1. End-to-end payroll management in a high-volume environment.
2. Leading payroll outsourcing projects and working with third-party providers.
3. Implementing or configuring payroll systems.
4. Forecasting, budgeting, and payroll modelling.
5. Process improvement and fixing existing payroll issues.
6. Managing employee benefits, pensions, and P11Ds.
7. Mentoring and hiring junior team members.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in payroll management, especially with outsourcing projects.
* Hands-on experience with payroll systems implementation or configuration.
* Strong financial skills including forecasting and budgeting.
* Experience in process improvement and problem-solving.
* Knowledge of employee benefits, pensions, and P11Ds.
* Advanced Excel skills.
* Leadership experience in mentoring or hiring.
Start date is at the end of May or early June. You will report to the Head of Finance but will have significant ownership of the payroll function.
