Job Description
We are working on behalf of a highly regarded, multi-office Yorkshire law firm to recruit a Claimant Clinical Negligence Solicitor or Legal Executive to join their growing team. This opportunity arises due to continued organic growth and offers the chance to join an award-winning, specialist clinical negligence team handling a high-quality caseload in a genuinely supportive and collaborative environment.
The Role
You will manage your own caseload of claimant clinical negligence matters, predominantly multi-track, from initial instruction through to conclusion. Caseload size is driven by complexity rather than volume, with most fee earners managing fewer than 40 cases at any one time. You will also support colleagues on more complex matters as required, with access to paralegal and secretarial support. The firm attracts work largely through recommendation, including both high-value complex claims and more straightforward matters. Hybrid working is available, and flexible location arrangements may be considered for experienced candidates.
Key Responsibilities
1. Running a caseload of claimant clinical negligence matters
2. Managing cases at all stages, from initial instructions to conclusion
3. Advising clients clearly and sensitively throughout the life of a claim
4. Instructing counsel and medical experts where appropriate
5. Preparing documentation and evidence
6. Attending court and undertaking advocacy where required
7. Maintaining high standards of client care and compliance
8. Contributing to business development and the wider team
About You
9. Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with 2-6 years' experience in claimant clinical negligence
10. Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail
11. Excellent client care and communication skills
12. Able to manage deadlines and work under pressure
13. Commercially aware and committed to delivering high-quality legal services
14. APIL accreditation advantageous (or working towards, depending on experience)
