The company’s products are sold through three sales channels: direct to end users, via authorized dealers, and as part of the OEM supply chain.
Founded in 1977, the company is based in Walsall, West Midlands, and employs approximately 40 staff.
There are four functional departments: Finance and Human Resources, Production, Sales and Marketing, and Design and Technical.
Overall Statement of Job Purpose
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Welder/Fabricator is responsible for delivering high-quality production fabricated and welded items safely and efficiently. The role requires proactive participation and adherence to the company’s HSEQ Policy, contributing to continuous quality improvement within the directorate.
Skills
WELDER - Skills, Experience, and Qualifications (SEQ) Set
Essential skills:
* MIG welding and steel fabrication
* Ability to operate required equipment safely (MIG welders, overhead cranes, hand tools, hand torches)
* Strong ability to read and interpret engineering and weld specification drawings
* Good housekeeping routines to meet H&S requirements
* Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Interpersonal skills (communication, conduct, attitude)
* Flexibility to work overtime as needed
Desirable skills:
* Forklift and non-slewing crane competency
* Basic PC skills
WELDER - Experience
Essential experience:
* Minimum of 2 years’ welding experience
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in steel product fabrication
Desirable experience:
* Experience in agricultural, construction, and/or industrial materials handling steel product fabrication
* Experience with overhead cranes, bandsaws, guillotines, folding machines, pillar drills, rolling machines, plasma cutters, CNC machines, lathes, and holding a current FLT license
WELDER - Qualifications
Essential qualifications:
* GCSE English
* GCSE Maths
Desirable qualifications:
* NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding or equivalent City & Guilds qualification
