Overview
Clinical Support Worker. Assisting patients with activities of daily living, in accordance with the care plan. Duties include hygiene care, nutrition and hydration, continence care, pressure area care, mobility and rehabilitation. Therapeutically engaging with patients and their families, some of whom will have dementia. The ward welcomes anyone with an interest in activity and entertainment that patients and staff will enjoy.
Being part of the wider MDT and contributing to the care patients receive on a daily basis. Assisting in taking and recording patient observations and reporting changes in health status to a trained nurse for action. Supporting registered nursing staff with clinical treatments and investigations as appropriate, to the level of knowledge and skill.
We are currently looking for a permanent Clinical Support Worker to join the team of General Medical/Elderly Care Ward. You must be caring, compassionate, reliable and have a genuine interest in working with elderly care patient groups across medicine and long-term care teams. There is an opportunity to grow professionally and expand your skills. A flexible approach to hours is required, including long days (07:00-19:30) and night shifts (19:00-07:30), including weekends and bank holidays.
Responsibilities

* Engage therapeutically with patients and families, including those with dementia.
* Be part of the wider MDT and contribute to daily patient care.
