Electrical Design Engineer
Reports to: Design Manager
Based at: Cookstown
Job Purpose: To work as part of a manufacturing team, designing and developing a range of motor control & power distribution panels to clients' specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for interpreting clients' requirements during the design phase of projects.
2. Preparing detailed electrical design and general arrangement drawings for the manufacture of motor control & power distribution panels.
3. Ensuring compliance throughout the development of assigned projects with all relevant specifications, standards, and safety regulations.
4. Preparing bills of materials for procurement.
5. Preparing documentation for testing, inspection, and commissioning of electrical systems.
6. Assisting with the preparation of tenders.
7. Participating in design/process reviews for products as required.
8. Engaging in problem-solving and brainstorming, both individually and as part of the design team.
9. Maintaining and updating electronic files using electronic document management software.
10. Liaising and building effective working relationships with Enisca clients.
11. Keeping up to date with changes to applicable UK and European legislation.
12. Keeping up to date with technological advances and new products.
13. Developing personal skills and capabilities through ongoing training, as provided by the company or elsewhere, subject to company approval.
14. Undertaking any other duties considered commensurate with the experience and requirements of the post.
Candidate Requirements:
Candidates applying should demonstrate the following:
Qualifications / Knowledge (Essential):
* Ideally hold an electrical engineering qualification; however, applications with suitable and related previous design experience in switchgear, automation, and electrical control systems will be considered equally.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
* UK Drivers Licence, access to own transport, and willingness to travel within the UK and Ireland.
Knowledge (Desirable):
* Knowledge of various electrical design software packages.
Experience (Essential):
* At least 5 years of electrical experience or relevant qualification.
Experience (Desirable):
* Experience in the design of electrical control systems.
* Experience in EPlan & AutoCAD.
* Previous experience in the water industry.
Skills and Abilities (Essential):
* Natural aptitude for logical problem solving.
* Ability to learn and adapt to new technology.
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
* Ability to build relationships internally and externally with colleagues and clients.
* Understanding of engineering drawings.
Desirable Skills:
* Project management skills.
