Senior Business Analyst – Regulatory Reporting
Location: Belfast, United Kingdom | Approx. £65,000 | Fixed-Term Contract (12M)
About the Team: The Data & Regulatory Operations group is a centralized unit responsible for the oversight of day-to-day compliance for trade and transaction reporting. Our team provides a crucial level of governance to safeguard our firm and our clients by ensuring all regulatory reporting obligations are met. We work closely with Compliance, Business, Technology, and Operations to interpret, investigate, and remediate reporting issues, while actively tracking risk through metrics analysis and timely escalation.
Role Overview: As a Senior Business Analyst within the Regulatory Reporting Team, you will provide supervision and oversight of key controls and processes to ensure a best-in-class reporting provision on behalf of the firm and its clients. You will work in conjunction with Senior Management across the UK to highlight issues, investigate root causes, and propose effective solutions through the interpretation of submitted trade data.
Key Responsibilities:
* Regulatory Oversight: Review trade and transaction reporting validation and reconciliation exceptions for data submitted to various National Competent Authorities.
* Exception Management: Monitor and test submission data and rejections. Develop and refine controls to drive the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of our regulatory reporting obligations.
* Control Monitoring: Oversee numerous daily regulatory processes to support the successful identification and remediation of failed controls, including the analysis of key controls, UAT of future enhancements, and remediation tasks.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Change Management, QA, Technology, and key business stakeholders to support proactive governance, ensuring adequate issue documentation, testing, and implementation of resolutions.
* Relationship Management: Act as a key liaison with internal stakeholders, fostering strong partnerships and ensuring all required sign-offs and audit trails meet a standardized, high-quality approach.
What You Bring (Knowledge & Skills):
* Data Analysis: A strong ability to compile large volumes of data and analyze results. You are highly analytical and comfortable researching complex issues in data sets using tools like SQL and Excel. Experience with JIRA is a plus.
* Risk & Control Experience: Experience working with exception-based controls and processing within a strict control environment. Prior experience in Regulatory Reporting, Operations, or Risk and Control is highly desirable.
* Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to detail complex issues clearly and concisely to clients, team members, and management.
* Problem Solving: You demonstrate sound judgment in decision-making and problem-solving, possessing the risk awareness and confidence to escalate issues when appropriate.
* Work Style: Proactive, organized, and adaptable to change. You are resilient under pressure and highly results-oriented with exceptional attention to detail.
Qualifications:
* GCSE “A” Level standard or equivalent (Mandatory).
* Strong numeric skills.
* Bachelor’s degree (Preferable).
