Job Overview
A Manager, Inventory Control and Logistics analyzes data to optimize stock levels, forecast demand, streamline supply chains, and reduce costs by balancing availability with efficiency, working across suppliers, warehouses, and operations using software to manage inventory lifecycle, track shipments, resolve inventory control issue, and implement process improvements for better fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Analysis & Forecasting: Analyze historical data, processing capabilities and incoming supply to forecast demand and manage inventory levels.
2. Inventory Management: Develop and implement strategies to reduce inventory levels. Perform audits, reconcile discrepancies, and manage inventory across warehouses (including transfers).
3. Supply Chain Coordination: Liaise with suppliers, warehouses, and logistics to manage supplier relationships, lead times, and product flow from acquisition to delivery/storage.
4. System & Process Improvement: Utilize inventory software (ERP/WMS), identify inefficiencies, recommend process enhancements, and support system testing.
5. Reporting: Prepare and present reports on inventory performance, KPIs, and issues to management ensuring accuracy of backend data.
Qualifications
6. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field.
7. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Inventory Management Software, ERP systems, MS Excel, Power BI, and data analysis tools.
8. Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving, forecasting, and statistical analysis abilities.
9. Soft Skills: Excellent communication, organization, attention to detail, and ability to work cross-functionally.
10. Materials Management Experience: Requires a knowledge of inventory management and transportation/logistics principles and theories. Proven understanding and implementation of the practical aspects of materials management operations and processes and operational impact of material control on user groups.
