Our company is growing rapidly, and we're looking for an exceptional Management Accountant to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving financial efficiency, accuracy, and insight across our operations.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager and working closely with the Commercial Manager, the Management Accountant will be responsible for producing timely, accurate financial reports, managing financial administration, and supporting strategic decision-making with robust financial insight.
This role will suit someone with strong management accounting experience who is commercially astute, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where quality and proactive problem-solving are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and variance analysis against budget and forecast.
Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
Provide clear, actionable financial insights to the leadership team to improve performance and profitability.
Monitor departmental and project profitability, highlighting risks and opportunities.
Oversee cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
Manage financial administration including, but not limited to:
Credit control and proactive debt recovery.
Customer and supplier account management.
Processing and reconciling invoices, receipts, and payments.
Maintaining accurate financial records in line with company policies.
Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal financial controls.
Implement and improve financial systems, processes, and reporting tools.
Produce regular KPI and performance dashboards for senior management.
Support business cases for strategic projects and investments.
Essential Skills & Experience
ACA or CIMA qualified (or finalist with strong experience).
Proven track record in a management accounting role with 5+ years' experience.
Strong analytical, reporting, and Excel skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.
Commercially minded with the ability to link financial results to business strategy.
Strong communication skills, able to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Proven experience using Xero financial software.
Desirable
Experience in engineering, inspection, or certification industries.
Knowledge of multi-currency accounting and international transactions.
