VICE PRINCIPAL for the STAFFORD CAMPUS & ADULT PROVISION
Competitive Salary
(Dependent upon skills and experience)
Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) is one of the most successful FE colleges in the country. Rated Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ in every category since 2019, and with achievement rates for academic, vocational, apprenticeship and adult provision all in the top 5% of FE providers nationally, NSCG is an exceptional place to work and study.
The NSCG Group has recently been extended with the opening of the Stoke and Staffordshire Institute of Technology, the establishment of an NSCG campus in Leek and most recently the acquisition on premises in Stafford to establish a town centre Adult Education Centre.
Student enrolments on all courses continue to grow strongly year-on-year and significant recent investment in facilities at Stafford mean that we now wish to appoint a Vice Principal to take on day-to-day oversight of all operations at NSCG Stafford.
In addition the postholder will have responsibility for the oversight of Adult provision across all sites within the Group.
Working with an outstanding and forward thinking senior management team, and reporting to the Principal, this is an opportunity for an ambitious and dynamic manager with a flexible and ‘hands on’ approach with broad experience and excellent problem solving skills.
Background to the role
Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stafford Colleges merged in 2016 to form the Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group. In the intervening decade full-time 16-18 enrolments at the Stafford campus have more than doubled to almost 3,000.
The campus is home to around 350 members of staff and there has been significant investment in the redevelopment and refurbishment of the estate to provide sector leading facilities for students.
Based in the heart of Stafford town centre, there are excellent bus and rail links throughout Staffordshire and into the West Midlands meaning that students are recruited from a wide geographic area.
Within the past year NSCG’s presence in Stafford has been further enhanced with the opening of the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Institute of Technology.
The principal responsibilities of the post holder are:
To oversee the Stafford Campus to ensure that outstanding levels of performance are maintained in teaching and learning and all aspects of the operation of the campus facilities.
To work in conjunction with the Principal and the wider Senior Team to promote and further develop the Stafford campus as an outstanding centre of academic, vocational and skills based learning;
To be the Senior lead for the development of promotion of Adult skills across the whole NSCG Group, and in particular to work with the Director of Adult Skills on the establishment and development of town centre provision for adults in Stafford and Newcastle.
Required Skills and Experience:
Has extensive experience of campus wide management at a senior level.
Has demonstrable experience of current issues relating to curriculum development and teaching & learning.
Is able to lead the development and expansion of provision for adult learners across the NSCG Group.
