Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our specialist inpatient team providing a service to Neurology and Neurosurgery. The role is based at Southmead Hospital, the regional centre for South West England, covering a wide spectrum of neurological conditions.
This post is to cover a secondment for 12 months, offering a fixed term or secondment opportunity.

Main duties of the job
* To provide a high standard occupational therapy service to inpatients referred to the specialty team.
* To use specialised skills to provide a comprehensive Occupational Therapy service to patients, including those with complex needs.
* To ensure service provision is prioritised and service delivery is effective within available resources.
* To provide leadership for Band 5 and support staff through supervision.
* To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services within a designated team, with responsibility for defined department projects.
* To contribute to the maintenance and development of the Occupational Therapy service.
* To train and supervise occupational therapy students on practice placement.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)
* Student Educator - experience/qualification (or within one year)
Work Experience
* Post registration experience as an OT
* Post registration experience in related clinical specialties
* Documented CPD
Desirable criteria
* Experience of research or audit
* Experience of supervising staff
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
* Effective written skills
* Digital skills
Personal Qualities
* HCPC registration

* Membership of RCOT
