BMS Commissioning / Project Engineer – London & South

The Opportunity
Join a leading national team delivering cutting-edge Building Management System (BMS) solutions across the UK.
In this role, you'll take ownership of full project lifecycles — from initial design and mobilisation through to commissioning and client handover. Working with industry-leading platforms such as Trend, Tridium (Niagara), and Distech, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality, tailored solutions to a diverse client base.
This is a hands-on position suited to a proactive engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and takes pride in delivering exceptional results.
You'll be part of a dynamic National BMS Projects & Operations Team, collaborating with over 50 engineers, managers, and support staff nationwide.
The Role
As a BMS Project & Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of BMS projects from start to finish, ensuring systems are designed, integrated, and commissioned to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver end-to-end BMS projects, from site mobilisation through to final commissioning and handover
2. Design and configure effective control strategies tailored to client requirements
3. Conduct site surveys and assess system requirements
4. Commission BMS systems, including graphics and head-end interfaces
5. Integrate systems using open protocols such as Modbus, M-Bus, and BACnet
6. Support and mentor junior engineers, promoting best practices
7. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
8. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to client expectations
What We're Looking For
9. Niagara Framework Certification – Ideally Certified or Advanced, with strong experience in Wire Sheets and control strategy development
10. Protocol Integration Expertise – Proven ability to integrate systems using Modbus, M-Bus, BACnet, and other open protocols
11. Strong IT & Networking Knowledge – Solid understanding of IP configuration and network infrastructure
12. Design & Commissioning Experience – Skilled in developing control strategies, schematics, and commissioning complete BMS solutions
13. Leadership & Communication Skills – Comfortable mentoring junior engineers and engaging with clients and stakeholders
