Overview
Reporting to the PCBA Engineering Manager, the PCB-A Lead Process Engineer will lead a multidisciplinary team focused on driving efficiency, quality and scalability across SMT, through-hole, dispensing & coating and other automated operations. You will champion process capability, introduce new technologies, and act as the technical authority on all aspects of PCB assembly automated processes.
Responsibilities
* Lead, coach and develop the Process Engineering team, ensuring high performance and technical capability
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on yield enhancement, machine utilisation and technological advancements
* Oversee the development, validation and optimisation of manufacturing processes, equipment and tooling
* Collaborate closely with production, quality and design teams to ensure manufacturing and process robustness
* Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensure smooth transition to volume production
* Manage process documentation, control plans, PFMEA's and standard operating procedures
* Evaluate and introduce new equipment and technologies to maintain a competitive edge
* Monitor KPI's and report on process yields, downtime, cycle time and other operational metrics
Qualifications
* Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 AND / OR
* Formal further education certificate to HND or equivalent in a relevant subject OR BEng/BSc in relevant Engineering/Technical Degree
* Demonstrated People Management Experience
* Experience in Circuit Card Manufacturing or Design
* Knowledge of CCA/PCBA Processes and Technologies
Additional Information
Security clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo BPSS checks. Salary: Circa £52,000 depending on experience. Dynamic (hybrid) working: 4-5 days per week on-site due to workload.
