Job Title: Business Support Officer

Hours: Full Time, 36 hours per week

Job Status: Permanent

Location: Home-based in England with the expectation of travel within area and nationally where required.

Salary: £33,506.83

Skills for Care is the strategic workforce development and planning body for adult social care in England.

This is an exciting opportunity within the National Workforce Development, Capability and Skills team as we embark on our work programme for 2026 and beyond. The Business Support Officer will play a key role in supporting the team achieve their objectives, providing project management and administrative support to three streams of work to enable efficient programme delivery and team working.

They will work under the supervision and direction of a Programme Head. They should be a team player, exceptionally organised and keen to learn and expand their skills and knowledge.

Potential areas of work for the Business Support Officer include:

Supporting the development of and monitoring project plans and documentation

Gathering evidence to support performance reporting

Coordinating and diarising key activities across the team in line with internal and external deadlines

Organising internal and external meetings

Supporting financial activities including forecasting and finance administration

Project specific activities relating to adult social care career progression, qualifications and skills.
