About the Team & Role
We are looking to recruit a Linux Engineer on a permanent basis. The role reports to the Database Engineering Manager and is a key position within the Cloud function.
About Your Role
The Linux Engineer will be accountable for Unix infrastructure on‑premises and Linux environments in the cloud. Responsibilities include:
* Design and engineering build of Linux/Unix/Storage solutions.
* Lead on the design of less complex technology solutions aligned to business requirements and user‑led designs.
* Perform comprehensive technical (unit and integration) testing of new solutions.
* Maintain a bi‑weekly on‑site presence in Preston (2 days per week).
Requirements
* Experience in a similar Linux/Unix engineer role.
* Working knowledge of Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) – desired.
* Experience with SAN solutions.
* Experience with infrastructure hardware and networking – preferred.
* Mandatory basic DBS check.
