Consultant Ecologist J Taylor Ecology Consulting is a small but highly focused consultancy based in Hampshire, providing ecological expertise for military and railway infrastructure, solar farm initiatives, and residential developments. Salary : £32,000 – £37,000 Location : Homebased - Projects across the UK, mainly Hampshire, Wiltshire and South of England Working hours : Flexible- term time/school hours considered General Responsibilities: We will give you the freedom to manage projects end‑to‑end in a supportive environment. You’ll lead surveys, assessments and reporting. What You’ll Do Deliver Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and Ecological Impact Assessments. Undertake protected and priority species surveys, particularly bat PRA and emergence surveys. Prepare quotations and survey designs. Lead field teams and manage projects from start to finish. Travel and (very) occasional overnight stays are part of the role, but we balance this with clear limits on nights away and flexible working to protect your work‑life balance.
