The role
As a Management Accountant, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting major marine and shipbuilding operations. This is an exciting opportunity to influence decisions that directly impact national defence, engineering excellence and operational performance. Your work will strengthen financial governance, enhance cost efficiency, and help guide strategic choices across the Rosyth shipyard—one of the most advanced manufacturing and engineering environments in the UK.
Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
1. Provide proactive financial analysis, including forecasting, budgeting and scenario modelling.
2. Produce insightful management reports to support operational and strategic decision‑making.
3. Partner with cost centre owners to understand financial performance, cost drivers and opportunities for improvement.
4. Assist with inventory management processes, strengthening governance and controls.
5. Support business cases, investment decisions and commercial models to ensure value‑for‑money and strategic alignment.
This role is full time, Monday to Friday, based at Rosyth. Hybrid working patterns are available (3 days per week onsite).
Essential experience of the Management Accountant
6. Experience supporting operational, engineering or industrial environments.
7. Strong analytical capability and a proactive, business‑focused mindset.
8. Ability to communicate clearly and influence decision‑makers.
9. Confidence to challenge constructively and provide balanced commercial insight.
10. Experience collaborating with multi‑disciplinary stakeholders.
Qualifications for the Management Accountant:
Essential:
11. Qualified accountant or exam‑complete finalist (ACA / ACCA / ACMA) with relevant experience.
Desirable:
12. Experience within marine, manufacturing, engineering or large operational environments.
13. Exposure to inventory management or project‑based finance.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
