At NELFT, we\'re proud to be the largest provider of Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) in England. Our service offers evidence-based individual and group interventions within educational settings to children and young people aged 5-18, helping children manage mild to moderate mental health challenges. Mid Essex MHST is looking for passionate, qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) or Children\'s Wellbeing Practitioners (CWPs) to join our team. Our team covers the districts of Braintree, Chelmsford and Maldon. We recognise the need for a healthy work life balance and will consider flexible working in line with trust policies. We encourage continual professional development and are keen to support staff to grow and progress. The team works hard to support one another to improve community mental health. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is required to travel across the county.
Responsibilities
* Work in partnership with schools, children, young people, and families in developing plans for intervention and agreed outcomes.
* Operate as autonomous clinicians within scope of practice, alongside education colleagues; deliver interventions to support CYP in primary, secondary and higher education settings.
* Complete comprehensive assessments, risk assessments, care plans and reviews.
* Proficient use of Routine Outcome Measures (ROMs) and clinical tools to gather feedback and guide practice; contribute to service planning and mapping with schools to inform CYP support.
* Work alongside other EMHPs/CWPs in educational settings and with Senior Mental Health Practitioners to support learning and development.
* Engage in individual work, group work and consultation; participate in local and county-wide meetings and supervision forums.
You will be Providing
* Assessment and treatment of children and young people under MHST core functions (Targeted intervention, Whole School approach, Consultation and Liaison).
* Delivery of the core components with a set number of schools as part of a team.
* Active participation in supervision and CPD opportunities; contribute to career pathways within EMHP/CWP roles.
Qualifications
Essential
* Successful completion of either Education Mental Health Practitioner or CWP PgDip course.
* Applicant can demonstrate they have applied for Wellbeing Practitioner registration with BABCP or BPS.
Desirable
* Appropriate registration with BABCP or BPS as a Wellbeing Practitioner.
Experience & Skills
* Experience of delivering CBT-informed therapeutic interventions to children, young people, or their families (including as a trainee).
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to travel efficiently throughout the area.

Other Requirements
* This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975; a DBS check will be required.
* UK Registration: Applicants must have current UK professional registration.

Base & Conditions
* Base: Stapleford House, Chelmsford (agile between NELFT sites and educational settings).
* Salary: £31,049 to £37,796 per annum.
* Contract: Permanent.
* Working pattern: Full-time, Part-time, Job share, Flexible working.
