Overview Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi VA is a 3-16 Church in Wales school that serves the historic city of St. Davids and surrounding areas. Based in the Pembrokeshire National Park, the school provides a caring, inclusive and welcoming environment with a strong Christian and community ethos. The school has an outstanding tradition and reputation for authentic learning experiences and is a lead network school for the Swansea University ITE programme.
For September 2026, the school is seeking to appoint a Head of Maths Area of Learning. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to shape the future of Maths across the all-age school. We are also open to appointing an experienced middle leader or an exceptional classroom teacher with leadership potential. Mentoring will be provided during the first year for the right candidate.

Responsibilities Lead the Maths Area of Learning (AOA) across the all-age school, contributing to innovative, future-focused learning environments.
Inspire learners and colleagues, drive high standards within the Maths department, and contribute to curriculum development in line with latest recommendations.
Collaborate with senior leaders to support whole-school improvement and strategic planning for Maths across key stages.
Provide mentoring and support for colleagues, particularly during the first year in the role.
Participate in school and departmental governance, including involvement with MAT and SEREN programme discussions if aligned with interests.

Qualifications & Requirements Qualified teacher status with the ability to teach up to GCSE level.
