Junior Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Applications are invited for the Junior Clinical Fellow post on a fixed-term contract in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, working for Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. We seek dynamic individuals who have completed their Foundation Programme training.
Ysbyty Gwynedd is located near Snowdonia National Park and the Menai Straits, an area of outstanding natural beauty with excellent facilities for outdoor pursuits, including water sports. Bangor offers excellent road and rail links across the UK, including Manchester & Liverpool airports and a ferry service to Ireland from Holyhead.
Main duties of the job
1. Emergency work including initial assessment and investigation of patients attending labour ward, maternity outpatient assessment unit, and early pregnancy assessment unit.
2. Assistance in obstetric emergencies and general gynaecology theatres, including day case surgeries.
3. Outpatient clinics: antenatal, gynaecological, postmenopausal, ultrasound, and some clinics in urogynaecology, genitourinary medicine, and genetics.
4. Participation in ward rounds, documentation, and discussions of findings.
5. Daily review of inpatients with discussions with senior doctors.
6. Attend handover meetings during on-call hours, document and communicate outstanding issues.
7. Maintain accurate clinical records and liaise with healthcare professionals.
8. Adhere to clinical protocols, guidelines from RCOG, NICE, and the Health Board.
9. Participate in Mandatory Training and yearly appraisals.
10. Complete at least one Clinical Audit/Clinical Effectiveness Project every six months.

* Essential: Relevant recent experience at clinical fellow trainee level or above
* Essential: ATLS provider
