CNC Machinist – Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
£35,000–£40,000 per year | Monday to Friday | Day Shift | Full-Time

Our client, a global leader in high-precision sensor manufacturing for critical construction and infrastructure projects, is seeking a skilled individual to join their in-house Machine Shop team in Bury St Edmunds.

What You’ll Be Doing:
As a key part of the Machine Shop team, you’ll support production by supplying precision components for the assembly team. You’ll work with CNC lathes and mills (with live tooling) and collaborate directly with the Head Machinist.
Key Responsibilities:
Programming and setting CNC lathes and mills (including live tooling)
Operating machines from existing programs (Fanuc/Haas)
Tool wear monitoring and spot checking during cycles
Loading materials and managing bar feeds
Deburring, cleaning, and handling machine parts
Performing routine maintenance and ensuring machine fluid levels
Keeping the machine shop tidy and efficient
About You:
We’re looking for someone who’s proactive, detail-focused, and eager to grow.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Experience with CNC turning and milling (live tooling, sub-spindle preferred)
Comfortable using Fanuc or Haas controls
High attention to detail with good time management
Confident communicator and team player
Open to learning and development
Calm under pressure and solutions-oriented
Desirable (Not Essential):
Advanced machining experience
In-house machining background preferred over subcontract work
