About the opportunity
At Boots we are at the forefront of innovation in community pharmacy working in partnership with the NHS, the Government and local communities. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in leading the pharmacy team to provide a service that our patients can trust. You will have opportunities to develop your skills, progress your career, or continue to offer excellent service to your community with ongoing CPD.
Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Providing expert, tailored advice to patients about medicines, products or Macmillan Cancer Support.
2. Delivering various services based on store needs.
3. Building strong relationships with your pharmacy team; coaching and inspiring them to deliver high standards of care.
4. Assisting with patient triage and prescription distribution.
5. Making legal, safe, and ethical decisions in the pharmacy.
6. Managing operational tasks such as stock replenishment, workload management, order fulfillment, and handling controlled drugs safely.
7. Completing a recognised training program, such as Buttercups, or the Boots 6-week Accuracy Checking Programme if you do not already have a qualification in accuracy checking.
What you’ll need to have
1. Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC and willing to complete our 6-week training course for prescription checking.
2. A passion for coaching and leading a dispensary team.
3. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
4. Motivation to improve services for teams, customers, and patients.
5. A desire to deliver outstanding patient care.
6. Ability to operate pharmacy systems and technology.
It would be great if you also have
Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician with checking capability is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.
