A specialist SEND school close to Blandford is seeking a dedicated SEN Support Worker to join their team from January through to July 2026. You’ll play a vital role in helping students access learning, develop confidence, and thrive in a nurturing environment. With strong leadership, excellent facilities, and a collaborative staff team, this is an ideal role for someone passionate about supporting young people with SEND.
Responsibilities
* Supporting students with a range of special educational needs
* Providing pastoral care to ensure pupils feel safe and supported
* Assisting with learning and development across a varied curriculum
* Building positive relationships with parents and carers
* Helping maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment
The Ideal Candidate
* Experience in education, care, youth work, or social care
* Understanding of SEN and/or challenging behaviours
* Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate learners
* Confidence working 1:1 and with small groups
* Energy, adaptability, and a positive approach
* Ability to manage behaviour and use de‑escalation strategies
* A genuine passion for supporting students with SEND
* Two relevant references from education or care settings
