Specialist Physiotherapist – Adult Rehabilitation
Salary: £18.15 per hour
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (flexible and part-time working available)
Location: Whiteabbey
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and skilled Specialist Physiotherapist (Band 6) to join an adult rehabilitation service. The post holder will work as part of a dynamic physiotherapy team, delivering high-quality, evidence-based rehabilitation care across a range of clinical settings. The role may be rotational across acute, neurological and community services and will involve integrated multidisciplinary working.
You will be responsible for managing your own caseload, carrying out highly skilled assessments and delivering specialist treatment programmes aimed at maximising function, independence and quality of life for patients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Independently manage a specialist caseload, delivering effective and efficient physiotherapy services
2. Undertake comprehensive assessments considering physical, psychological and social factors
3. Formulate accurate clinical diagnoses, prognoses and individualised treatment plans
4. Deliver specialised rehabilitation programmes using a wide range of treatment approaches
5. Work as a lone practitioner when required, while contributing to multidisciplinary teams
6. Support safe and timely discharge planning
7. Assess mental capacity and obtain informed consent within legal and professional frameworks
8. Maintain accurate, timely and legally compliant clinical records
9. Communicate effectively with patients, carers and colleagues
10. Participate in MDT meetings, case conferences and service planning
11. Supervise, support and teach junior staff, assistants and students
12. Assess, order and review specialist equipment and provide training on safe use
13. Contribute to audit, research and service improvement initiatives
14. Participate in flexible working arrangements, including out-of-hours services if required

Essential Criteria
15. Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy
16. Current registration with the HCPC
17. Relevant experience in adult rehabilitation
18. Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills
19. Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
20. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
21. Commitment to CPD and evidence-based practice
