This is a 5‑month Senior Media Officer position working in a small but perfectly formed Media & Marketing team. You will collaborate on a broad range of projects that require proactive storytelling and BAU press office work.
Description
Reporting to the Head of Media you will be involved in the following:
* Manage media relations for projects that support the promotion of the organisation’s work; including story planning & creation, collaborating with third‑party partners and internal teams.
* Draft press releases, statements, and other media materials to ensure accurate messaging in response to media enquiries.
* Coordinate press coverage for events to promote organisational initiatives.
* Collaborate with the Marketing team to align messaging with broader campaigns across all content formats, including social channels.
* Seek out opportunities for relevant partners according to the event calendar.
Profile
A successful Senior Press Officer should have:
* Proven experience in media relations, ideally within the UK cultural sectors and/or public sector.
* Excellent track record of developing compelling media moments that can be pushed out to engage with different audience groups in a meaningful way.
* Knowledge of the media landscape and ability to build effective relationships with journalists both regionally and nationally.
* Passion for writing engaging content for all on‑and offline media channels.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Job Offer
Daily Rate – PAYE circa £140 depending on suitability and knowledge.
5‑Month temporary assignment – 3 days office based.
