Mechanical CraftspersonRole Purpose
The Mechanical Craftsperson plays a vital role in the manufacture of cement products for the UK construction industry. Working as part of a multi-skilled team, this position is responsible for planned and reactive maintenance of fixed plant equipment to ensure maximum reliability and operational efficiency across the site.
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform scheduled maintenance and respond to unscheduled mechanical repairs.
2. Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, and Production teams to ensure effective task completion.
3. Conduct risk assessments and implement safe working procedures; generate documentation as required.
4. Adhere to maintenance schedules and meet reliability targets.
5. Assist with inspections, defect resolution, fabrication of parts, and large-scale installations.
6. Operate plant equipment ensuring compliance with EN450AN standards and production tolerances.
7. Maintain high standards of safety in line with company Health & Safety policies, including PPE usage and safe operation of mobile plant.
8. Support SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) initiatives, including policy implementation and incident prevention.
9. Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and propose improvement actions.
10. Ensure housekeeping standards are met and report deficiencies.
