Job overview
King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a large teaching hospital with multiple sites, offering a range of local and specialist services. The Speech & Language Therapy department has over 40 staff providing inpatient and outpatient services across our three main sites.
We are seeking candidates to join our Band 6 rotation program, which includes rotations in Neuro Oncology, Health & Ageing, Neurosurgery, and Critical Care. Some rotations require participation in a 7-day rota.
The Denmark Hill Speech and Language Therapy team collaborates closely with all King’s sites and multidisciplinary teams. Led by the Head of Speech & Language Therapy and Band 8A Clinical Leads, the service provides supervision, learning opportunities, and involvement in service development.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide specialist services to adults with communication and/or swallowing disorders, including those with tracheostomies, across different clinical areas during each rotation. The current vacancy is within the Health & Ageing team, part of the Acute SLT service, covering wards for general medical, surgical, and aged care patients. The team is dynamic, busy, and experienced, offering opportunities to develop clinical skills, including FEES, VF, and tracheostomy competencies.
