Overview:
Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate and skilled Food Technology Teacher for a full-time position at an Ofsted Good, diverse secondary school in Levenshulme. This role begins in September and spans the entire academic year, with the potential for the position to become permanent based on performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Curriculum Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and comprehensive Food Technology lessons that align with the national curriculum and meet the diverse learning needs of students.
* Practical Skills Development: Guide students in hands-on food preparation and cooking activities, ensuring they develop essential skills in food safety, nutrition, and culinary techniques.
* Assessment and Evaluation: Regularly assess and monitor students' progress through various assessment methods, providing constructive feedback to support their academic and practical development.
* Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring all students are actively engaged and adhere to the school's behavioral expectations.
* Resource Development: Develop and utilize a range of teaching resources and tools, including modern technology and traditional methods, to enhance the learning experience.
* Safety and Compliance: Ensure all practical activities and use of equipment adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe and hygienic learning environment for all students.
* Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities, staying current with advancements in Food Technology education and pedagogical best practices.
* Extracurricular Involvement: Contribute to the school community by participating in Food Technology-related extracurricular activities, clubs, or events, fostering a deeper interest in the subject among students.
Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification with a specialization in Food Technology.
* Proven experience in teaching Food Technology at the secondary school level, with a strong understanding of the national curriculum and assessment standards.
* Passion for Food Technology education and a commitment to inspiring students through innovative and engaging teaching methods.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse and dynamic classroom environment.
