MEP Manager – Electrical Bias

Our client, a leading provider of Mechanical and Electrical building services across the UK, delivering high-quality solutions across commercial, education, local authority, industrial, retail, and residential sectors. With a highly skilled in-house workforce and an established local supply chain, they provide compliant and reliable services across electrical, gas, plumbing, drainage, fire alarms, security systems, ventilation, and air conditioning works.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Local Works MEP Manager to join their team and support the successful delivery of small-to-medium scale building projects across multiple sectors.
About The Role
The MEP Manager – will oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects, with a primary focus on electrical systems and installations. Projects may include refurbishments, compliance works, plant upgrades, office fit-outs, school improvements, and maintenance schemes across occupied buildings and estates.
This is a hands‑on management role requiring strong technical electrical knowledge, excellent contractor management skills, and the ability to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Delivery
* Coordinate multidisciplinary MEP services across projects
* Review technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation
* Ensure works are completed in accordance with programme and client expectations
* Contractor & Site Management
* Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and specialist engineers
* Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks
* Monitor progress, approve valuations, and track project performance
* Compliance & Health & Safety
* Ensure all projects comply with current regulations and standards
* Ensure all certification and compliance documentation is completed correctly
* Project Management
* Monitor project budgets and costs
* Manage project risks and programme delivery
* Maintain strong communication with stakeholders and clients throughout the project lifecycle
Skills & Experience Required
* Electrical engineering background within building services or construction
* Relevant qualifications and cards
* Experience managing MEP or electrical projects
* Good understanding of LV systems, lighting, controls, fire alarms, and building services infrastructure
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Strong knowledge of health & safety and compliance requirements
* Excellent communication and contractor management skills
* Full UK driving licence
