Client Onboarding Assistant

THE ROLE
Assist The Deeds Manager By Undertaking The Following Roles
We are looking for a Client Onboarding Assistant to join the Administration team, on a full-time basis. Working in our Bury St Edmunds office, your duties will be varied but will include:
* Deal with Client Onboarding tasks on a range of matters, including but not limited to those listed below;
* Create and add contact/client records to our Practice Management System (PMS);
* Run conflict checks using data supplied and other available data on our PMS;
* Deal with the result of conflict checks in accordance with our compliance procedures;
* Review Client ID received from clients or digital systems, including confirming that the correct ID has been obtained;
* Undertake Electronic checks with ID supplied;
* Follow up on ID queries by checking other external sources to help verify the ID of clients;
* Undertake any of the above tasks in order to carry out PEPs and Sanctions checks;
* Escalate any matters which require further investigation to the Deeds Manager; and
* Liaise with Partners, Fee Earners, secretarial staff and other colleagues when it comes to completing any of the relevant Client Onboarding tasks.
* Arrange for closure of matters on our PMS
Otherwise
* Maintain high standard for client service and quality control;
* Ensure that all of the above tasks are undertaken in accordance with Anti-Money Laundering, Compliance and other regulatory requirements; and
* Carry out any other duties commensurate with the purpose of the role, including the performance of duties outside normal working hours when required.
Skills And Experience
* Preferably educated to degree level.
* Experience of working in a law firm, preferably with an understanding of Client Engagement and related procedures.
* Otherwise, a willingness to learn such procedures and the regulatory and risk requirements associated with the range of services in the legal industry.
* Ability to manage processes efficiently, with accuracy and attention to detail and adapt easily to procedural changes.
* Strong analytical and research skills.
* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
* Team player adaptable to a fast-paced and changing environment.
* Must have good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

HOURS AND SALARY
Working hours are: 8:30am – 5.30pm Monday – Friday.
