Mechanical Design Engineer
Burntwood - hybrid working
Key Responsibilities
Producing fabrication, refractory, and general arrangement drawings in accordance with BS8888 standards
Reviewing and verifying engineering drawings created by team members
Carrying out site surveys and supporting feasibility assessments
Preparing and maintaining bills of materials (BOM)
Liaising with suppliers and undertaking quality inspections where required
Providing technical input and support to the sales team
Assisting with fabrication cost estimation
Essential Requirements
Proficiency in SolidWorks
Minimum of 1 years' experience in bespoke machinery design
A valid UK driving licence
Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
Degree in Engineering or significant practical experience through engineering apprenticeships and design roles
Desirable (Not Essential)
Practical workshop, fabrication, or shop-floor experience
Familiarity with AutoCAD LT
Experience working with refractory materials
