Business Development Manager

£35,000 per annum starting salary + Commission

A successful and well-established industrial materials business, based in Halifax are currently looking for an experienced sales professional to develop existing business accounts, identify and secure new business opportunities and nurture and build long-lasting profitable working relationships.
Job Description:
This would be a predominantly office-based role focused on account management but the company would expect the successful candidate to actively participate in existing customer visits and attend new business meetings once they are established in their role.
Responsibilities:
Maintain strong relationships with existing customer accounts
Identify growth opportunities and put strategies in place to achieve success
Achieve or exceed agreed sales targets
Actively participate in sales proactivity, including customer visits, under the guidance of the branch manager
Deal with incoming enquiries to complete all aspects of the order process
Provide regular feedback on sales performance and market trends
Ensure in-depth knowledge of the entire product range
Develop a thorough understanding of customer requirements on a business and technical level
Experience required:
Experience of sales within the B2B (business to business) environment, preferably within the industrial materials or parts industry
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to think strategically and proactively identify new opportunities
A demonstrable record of success in developing new business
Ability to work with values of responsiveness, reliability and respect
