Job Description:
MERITUS Talent is working with Europe's largest weapons manufacturer to recruit a Systems Engineer for their Bristol office on a hybrid basis. The role requires an active SC clearance prior to starting, and candidates must be sole British Nationals.
Overview of department:
This programme is a boundary-pushing weapon system development initiative with significant industry and customer engagement. It focuses on developing the UK's first LDEW concept demonstrator, achieving notable recent success with several high-profile trials.
As a Systems Engineer, you will join a dynamic team dedicated to developing advanced defence systems. You will contribute to the design, development, and integration of advanced LDEW systems, ensuring performance and reliability.
Following recent successes, the programme aims to develop a deployable, world-class LDEW air defence system. The project involves pioneering technology experiments and rapid weapon system development across key Systems Engineering domains: requirements, design, performance analysis, and certification.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver TRS / Verification / Certification documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
* Support the delivery of project material for design reviews.
* Conduct system trade studies analysis and prepare reports.
Skillset/experience required:
* Initiate and lead trade studies and system development activities.
* Experience in developing complex systems, ideally in defence.
* Ability to communicate architectures and ideas at all levels.
* Experience in elaborating user requirements with design authorities.
* Support functional design with requirement flow-down through system/sub-system/equipment.
* Share technical information clearly with customers.
* Develop strong relationships with key partners.
* Desire to develop and grow the Systems Design team.
* Experience with system architecting tools such as DOORS/DOORS NG/Rhapsody (desirable).
* Knowledge of lasers or maritime system integration (highly beneficial).
