Job Title: Project Planner
Location: Easington, East Riding of Yorkshire (1 day per week onsite)
Remuneration: £500 - £550 per day (via Umbrella)
Contract Details: Fixed Term Contract (12 months)
Responsibilities:
Schedule Development & Management
Develop and maintain resource-loaded project schedules using Primavera P6 across all project phases (FEED, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning).
Ensure schedules are fully integrated, logically linked, and aligned to WBS structures.
Establish project baselines and manage all schedule change control processes.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
Track progress against baseline schedules, identifying critical path activities and KPI performance.
Conduct regular schedule updates and variance analysis.
Produce weekly and monthly reports including S-curves, look-ahead schedules, and critical path analysis.
Analysis & Forecasting
Perform what-if scenario modeling and delay impact analysis within P6.
Support the development of mitigation and recovery plans.
Resource & Data Management
Monitor resource allocation and utilization.
Maintain and update Power BI dashboards (management and refinement of existing reports).
Oversee resource histograms and performance tracking.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement, and Construction teams.
Support ongoing delivery across a portfolio of 10+ active projects.
Participate in project meetings and provide scheduling insight.
Candidate Requirements:
Experience
5-8+ years' experience in project planning & scheduling within complex environments.
Background in oil & gas, energy, petrochemical, or utilities preferred.
Experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
Technical Skills
Expert-level knowledge in Primavera P6 (essential).
Strong understanding of WBS structures, Critical Path Method (CPM), resource loading, and forecasting.
Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM).
Experience using Power BI for reporting (maintenance level).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Industry Knowledge
Understanding of onshore and offshore project lifecycles.
Familiarity with engineering, procurement, and construction processes.
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
