The Web, ChatBot and Mobile App teams develop the Corporate Website, subsites and introduce new features to both the mobile app and chatbot.
Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is now a standalone project in its delivery phase to support corporate goals of modernising, improving efficiency and reducing operating costs.
The SharePoint team assists directorates to migrate data from shared drives to SharePoint online creating sites and subsites which are reflective of the Council’s organisational structure.
Software Engineering provides resource to digital projects and delivers custom software solutions and configuration to improve service across the authority.
About the job
The Senior Product Owner is responsible for leading the vision, prioritisation and successful delivery of complex digital products that underpin statutory and non-statutory high impact council services.
The postholder will lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver user-centred, secure and compliant services aligned to the organisation’s digital strategy and enterprise architecture. Exercising discretion to balance policy, user need, technical feasibility, risk and investment.
The role aligns activities with corporate priorities and transforms customer experience / operational efficiency through the delivery of technical solutions that fit within the Council’s themes of digital transformation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful delivery of our digital products, identify new areas of technology use and evaluate benefits achieved across the platforms.
What We Are Looking For From You
The successful candidate will be able to work on a group of products that share a value proposition, are complex, and improve service delivery. They will be responsible for product quality and value, working with teams to identify, implement and improve business processes as part of delivery. They may also be involved in parts of programme management activity.
We're looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following skills and experience
* The ability to lead agile teams through different phases of the product life cycle, from discovery, through development, delivery and continuous improvement, to retirement.
* Can make decisions based on the overall quality and value of the products.
* Has experience of managing other product leads or project delivery staff.
* Proven experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams for the development and subsequent release of digital products.
* Able to collaborate with service areas, senior managers, and external partners to understand requirements, improve digital services, and ensure applications meet operational and legislative needs.
* Ensures that user needs are met through a regime of user testing and feedback.
* Establish a value framework with which to monitor the benefits associated with each delivered product.
* Ensures that effective training and support arrangements are in place for the team. Working with external training suppliers and partner organisations for specific training within the topic of agile delivery.
