About the Role
As our Education Safeguarding Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting schools, academies, and other educational providers to meet their safeguarding responsibilities. You will provide expert advice, deliver training, and work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to promote a culture of vigilance and continuous improvement in safeguarding practice.
The post holder will work as part of a dynamic integrated multi-agency partnership (IMAP) team to screen notifications and referrals regarding children aged 0 – 18 years and will represent education settings on current issues within the IMAP to ensure the local authority are meeting its statutory safeguarding responsibilities.
Through a collaborative approach and in line with Working Together, 2023 the post holder will take a full and active role on behalf of education in the decision-making process around the safeguarding of all children and young people to ensure improved outcomes. This will incorporate the liaison, oversight and support to Designated Leads (DSLs) in schools and local authority education officers.
The postholder will be an integral part of the Integrated Multi-Agency Partnership, as the Education Lead within children’s services across North Lincolnshire.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic and operational safeguarding advice to education settings.
• Support Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) with casework, policy development, and compliance.
• Deliver high-quality safeguarding training and briefings.
• Monitor safeguarding trends and contribute to local safeguarding strategies.
• Liaise with external agencies including social care, police, and health services.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
• Has significant experience in safeguarding children, ideally within an education or social care setting.
• Understands current legislation, guidance, and best practice in safeguarding and child protection.
• Is an excellent communicator and confident in delivering training.
• Can work independently and as part of a wider safeguarding team.
• Holds a relevant qualification in education, social work, or a related field.
