Sanctuary Personnel has a permanent Social Worker position in the Life Planning Team based in Barking & Dagenham. Salary up to £46,041 per annum.
* Provide effective social work services to children and young people with disabilities and their families, safeguarding and promoting their welfare, wellbeing and independence.
* Formulate and progress care plans in line with national and local procedures.
* Ensure that the health and education needs of all children in care are met in accordance with National Standards.
* Adhere to all procedural requirements for reviewing, consultation and recording.
* Support the development of systemic practice across the Children’s Social Care Division.
* Carry a caseload of the most complex cases including complex safeguarding enquiries, complex family proceedings and children deemed to be at high risk of significant harm.
* Record to a high standard, capturing the voice of the child and demonstrating evidence of analysis and reflection throughout.
* Provide support and mentoring to less experienced colleagues.
* Work within London Child Protection procedures to undertake key work responsibilities for children subject to a child protection plan.
* Deputise for the Consultant Social Worker where required.
* Identify appropriate systems of support with service users, families and carers to enable them to maintain and improve their quality of life independently.
* Maintain high standards of record keeping on the Council’s electronic systems, ensuring information is timely, accurate and complete.
* Actively participate in line management and professional supervision, team meetings and performance management processes to improve the service.
Requirements of this role:
* A social work qualification or equivalent.
* Understanding of relevant legislation.
* Registered or eligible for registration.
* Registration with the relevant health professional council/governing body (Social Care England).
