Overview
Mitie is seeking a Security Officer to protect our customer's property, people and assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the sites published Assignment Instructions (AIs) and any subsequent changes. You will deliver results that meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators / Service Level Agreements for the customer, ensure continuous self-development, and contribute to contract retention.
Responsibilities
* Be aware of and comply with all policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK law and guidance bodies.
* Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AIs).
* Proactively review published Assignment Instructions and suggest amendments to improve or enhance the current level of service.
* Maintain compliance with industry and statutory legislation (you are required to obtain a front-line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision), which must be worn at all times while performing duties. The customer also requires a CCTV PSS SIA Licence. Additional contractual courses may be required.
* Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements; follow instructions and procedures without unnecessarily challenging authority.
* Work in a systematic, methodical, and orderly way.
* Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident for use in the Incident Report process.
* Keep to schedules, demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client, and ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time as per the AIs.
* Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
Training and Development
* Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training and undertake additional training as directed for continuous self-development.
* Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge through ongoing professional development.
* Renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.
Security, Health & Safety
* Look out for and immediately report any health and safety hazards on site.
* Stay alert to threats or changes in the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce disruption, loss or damage.
* Maintain professional conduct in difficult situations and with challenging customers.
