O'Neill & Brennan are currently partnering with a leading contractor who are on the lookout for an experienced Site Engineer to join their team on a new build data centre in East London. Reports To: Senior Project Manager Purpose of the Role: The Site Engineer will be responsible for setting out and overseeing construction works on site, ensuring that all activities are completed in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and building regulations. Key Responsibilities: Support the Project Manager and Senior Engineer with the day-to-day technical and engineering management of the site, including handling RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and coordinating design team workshops. Assist in implementing and maintaining quality control measures to ensure compliance with the project’s BCAR (Building Control Amendment Regulations) plan. Review and understand the short-term programme to ensure all necessary documents and information are in place for the project team and subcontractors to deliver works as scheduled. Support the wider project management team to ensure works are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Work proactively with the project team to identify information gaps or technical issues, develop solutions, and liaise with the design and site teams to resolve them promptly. Foster strong working relationships with the construction management team, subcontractors, and supply chain partners. Candidates Requirements: Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related discipline. Sound understanding of construction techniques, with strong skills in setting out, surveying, and levelling, along with a good knowledge of temporary works coordination. Excellent numeracy, record-keeping, and organisational skills. Understanding of project planning and programming processes. Strong decision-making skills with the ability to recognise when to escalate issues. Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with project scheduling software (e.g., MS Project or equivalent).
