The Company:
Founded in 1969, IAE are the UK's largest and leading manufacturer of livestock housing and handling equipment, equestrian stabling, industrial fencing, and shelters. The company remains to be owned by the same family who set it up 54 years ago, and now employs over 450 people, which we are committed to investing in. IAE is based on a purpose built, 36-acre site which is situated on the edge of Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire. The state-of-the-art production facility features an extensive range of automated processes, ranging from robotic welding technology to automated material handling. In addition to this, IAE also houses its own galvanising facility and is has recently developed an adjoining site which encompasses an additional 103,000 ft² of production space, as well as an in-house learning and demonstration facility.
The Role:
We have an opening for a Hardware & Infrastructure Technician working within our Business Technology Department. Working with other members of the Hardware & Infrastructure team you will be responsible for the maintaining and troubleshooting of computer networks and systems, plus assisting end users, resolving their issues through our ticketing system. IAE use Windows Based operating systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the Management of all IT related Hardware and software to maintain its effective functionality. This including but not limited to the below: -
· Ensure end users support requests are dealt with effectively, ensuring escalation to senior team members as required. This will include in person & remote support.
· Maintenance of user accounts ensuring staff have the required access & appropriate tools.
· Install new hardware/software and perform any upgrades that are required to ensure systems meet the developing need of the business.
· Deployment of hardware & software patches.
· Maintenance of the asset register & frequent auditing ensure the accurate management of our assets.
· Create & review Knowledge base articles to ensure they are appropriate for their intended audience.
· Assist on projects, helping to ensure that they are deployed with agreed timeframes.
· Provide orientation to all users, in the use of software & technology.
The candidate
The right candidate will be diligent, self-motivated and display an enthusiasm for technology systems – ideally with the academic aptitude to progress within the Business Technology Department.
The ideal candidate should possess some or all the following.
· Proven work experience and knowledge of using, configuring & administering modern technology and software. Providing 1st line support.
· Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.
· Good attention to detail, planning and organization skills.
· Able to approach work and training methodically and adapt where necessary to achieve good results.
· Ability to work efficiently and accurately with good consistency and to expected deadlines.
· Able to work as part of a team or individually.
· Able to work minimal supervision, effectively schedule and manage time.
Education
· NVQ Level 3 IT Qualification or relevant A-Levels, with GCSE English Language grade 5/C or equivalent.

Hours: Working 39 hours, Monday to Friday IAE offers a choice of working schedules on a 2-week rotational basis, including the option a of Lunch Time Finish every other Friday. Earliest available start 7.30am and latest available finish is 5pm.
