Job Description
We seek an experienced Qualified Actuary to join our Retail Finance team as a Financial Performance Manager for the Retail Protection business. This role involves supporting the business in managing and optimizing financial results, including IFRS17 compliance. Responsibilities include monitoring business performance against key metrics, ensuring robust financial controls, and providing relevant financial MI.
You will communicate complex financial information effectively to stakeholders up to Director level, ensuring clarity and relevance. While the role is within our Retail Protection team, prior experience in Retail Protection is not mandatory, and we welcome applicants from various backgrounds.
This is a hybrid role based from our UK offices in London, Cardiff, or Hove, allowing a flexible work-from-home arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Monitoring financial performance against key metrics
2. Using financial data to inform management decisions and challenge stakeholders
3. Supporting development of financial analytical capabilities
4. Producing and communicating financial results timely and in compliance with standards
5. Reporting MI to the business
6. Observing financial controls and procedures
7. Ensuring analysis and decisions consider customer fair treatment
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
* A Fully Qualified Actuary
* Experience in financial management/reporting, ideally in a Life insurance or consultancy setting, with knowledge of Solvency II & IFRS17
* Understanding of Protection products, risks, and regulatory frameworks (highly advantageous)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Prophet, and DCS
* Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
* Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
* Flexible, able to multi-task, and meet deadlines
* Capable of working independently and within a team
