Responsibilities:
* Foster a safe, caring, and stimulating environment where children can thrive and learn.
* Design and implement age-appropriate activities that support children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
* Conduct regular observations and assessments, maintaining accurate records of children's progress and addressing any concerns promptly.
* Cultivate positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, promoting open communication and collaboration.
* Support children's personal hygiene routines with sensitivity and respect, including diapering/toileting, handwashing, and feeding.
* Champion positive behavior management techniques, creating an atmosphere of mutual respect and inclusivity.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting nursery environment conducive to learning and play.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations rigorously, including maintaining ratios, conducting risk assessments, and implementing emergency procedures.
* Participate actively in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills.
* Serve as a key worker for a designated group of children, providing personalized care and support as required.
Requirements:
* Hold a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Diploma in Childcare and Education).
* Demonstrate previous experience working with children aged 0-5 in a nursery or early years setting.
* Possess a solid understanding of child development theories and best practices in early childhood education.
* Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
* Display excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English.
* Work effectively within a team and independently, demonstrating initiative and flexibility.
* Radiate positivity, patience, and an authentic passion for working with children.
* Maintain a steadfast commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
* Possess a basic understanding of health and safety regulations, with a willingness to undergo relevant training.
* Hold or be willing to obtain Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
* Safeguarding and Child Protection Training.
* Additional training in areas such as SEN (Special Educational Needs), behavior management, or language development.
* Experience working with children from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Working Hours: Full Time / Part Time Available
Salary: Competitive, £12-£13 per hour (depending on experience)
