The Job Role We are looking to recruit a trainee Claims Handler working as part of our head office Claims Team in Darwen, Lancashire. You will be one of the first point of contacts for field-based loss assessors, insurance brokers, other referrers of business, and responsible for providing support to the Aspray Head Office team and network of assessors. The Ideal Individual Experience is not required as full training will be provided to the right candidate. Must possess a desire to learn and undertake the required insurance qualifications to progress within the business. We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible team player who can incorporate their job role into the wider business and understands the importance of communication and interaction with other departments. You will have a confident and friendly telephone manner along with a professional persona. Personal presentation will always be of a high standard and the ability to work in a face-to-face service-based environment is important. A strong attention to detail is required along with excellent computer skills, the ability to multi-task, and effectively manage your own workload. Main Duties Promoting the company in a positive light to all stakeholders and customers. Answering incoming calls, liaising with clients, loss assessors, and other individuals and companies. Shadowing experienced members of the Claims Team to learn the principles of insurance, claims handling, and our business operations. Operating a CRM system and ensuring that it is always kept fully updated Assisting the Aspray Head Office claims team with processing of documentation and other admin tasks General administration duties Escalating any issues to senior management Attendance at training or conference events as support may be required Any other duties as instructed by your line manager. Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Required A friendly and professional telephone manner. A willingness to learn and develop the role. A proactive, positive and organised approach to all tasks. Excellent team working skills. Flexibility. Excellent I.T skills Inc. Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel etc Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal. A good work ethic, and exceptional time management and organisational skills. The ability to take instruction and follow set procedures. Flexibility & the ability to stay composed under pressure.
