Housing Support Worker – High Wycombe and Maidenhead
Job type: Full Time, permanent
Hours: Working hours are 8 hours per day, shift patterns and flexibility will be discussed during the interview. The provision of the contract is between 08:00 and 22:00.
Location: High Wycombe and Maidenhead
Additional requirements: An enhanced DBS check will be required. Candidates must have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Nacro is a national Social Justice Charity with over 50 years of experience in community support and crime reduction. We deliver the Community Accommodation Support service (CAS), a national program across England and Wales, supporting adults in bail and post-custody support.
The team provides flexible, holistic support to residents with diverse needs, aiming to help them find and maintain stable housing. You will manage caseloads within your area.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Supporting clients to comply with HDC/Bail conditions.
2. Developing realistic, person-centred Support Plans including access to housing services for move-on.
3. Ensuring Support Plans and Risk Assessments are tailored and inclusive.
4. Providing weekly support to residents to meet their objectives.
5. Assisting residents with Housing Benefit applications.
6. Managing properties to meet Decent Homes Standards and reporting repairs.
7. Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver effective, person-centred Support and Safety Plans.
2. Conduct weekly support sessions (up to 2 hours).
3. Maintain up-to-date Resident records.
4. Support Housing Benefit applications.
5. Refer residents to community support agencies.
6. Liaise with partner agencies such as Probation, Courts, and Police.
7. Ensure properties are well-maintained and equipped.
8. Empower residents to achieve their goals.
9. Develop early move-on plans with residents.
Candidate Requirements:
* Ability to develop person-centred support and move-on plans.
* Understanding of safeguarding procedures.
* Experience working with vulnerable adults with complex needs.
* Flexibility to travel within the area and cover other patches as needed.
* Familiarity with computer-based packages.
