Role Overview
You’ll be working pre-contract, producing cost plans from early-stage budgets to detailed bills of quantities. The role suits someone analytical and detail-oriented, confident in interpreting drawings, reviewing specifications, and forecasting project costs. There’s also an opportunity to mentor junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate cost plans and estimates across a range of sectors
Evaluate drawings, specifications, and project requirements
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders
Contribute to risk assessments and project feasibility studies
Stay informed on market trends and construction costs
Support and guide trainees and graduates in cost planning
Requirements
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
Proven experience in cost planning or estimating within construction
Strong analytical and communication skills
Proficiency in Excel and cost estimation tools
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
RICS membership or working towards APC
Knowledge of sustainable construction practices (e.g., BREEAM, LEED)
Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., WDQR)
