An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the Fire Control Team for Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service.
We are advertising for the role of Firefighter Control working within the Fire Control Team for 6 months.
Applicants are also welcome from Control Firefighters who are already competent in the role and may wish to transfer from another Fire and Rescue Service.
About The Team
Based at our Headquarters in Leamington Spa, you’ll be joining our established team, working on a Watch-Based flexible shift pattern, in a newly refurbished Fire Control facility.
We are currently upgrading our Command and Control system, having recently replaced our telephony system, to employ the latest technology to provide an excellent service to Warwickshire.

About The Role
You’ll be the first point of contact for callers dialling 999 for Fire and Rescue. It’s important to deliver high customer care standards, manage expectations, and provide guidance during emergencies. You must communicate clearly, take ownership of inquiries, and find solutions. You should work effectively in high-pressure situations with resilience and good problem-solving skills to support operational firefighting crews during incidents.
Key Requirements
* Good listening skills; speaks and writes clearly and concisely, with good command of English.
* Provides a high-quality, professional service to customers using clear communication, ownership of inquiries, and solutions.
* Able to input emergency call details quickly and accurately onto the IT system.
* Work cooperatively as part of a team, avoiding competition.
* Manage personal effectiveness by controlling emotions under pressure, setbacks, or provocative situations.
* Work flexibly and adapt approaches as situations change.
