We are looking for a Healthcare Support Worker to join our team of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists based within Dundee Community Rehabilitation team.
We are part of a friendly, hard working and dynamic integrated team, with physiotherapists, Dundee City Council Occupational Therapists, the Integrated Living Officer and Store Manager.
The Dundee East and West Rehabilitation teams work closely to deliver a service to the people of Dundee.
We are located across two sites and you will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills and be responsible for maximising the functional potential of clients.
This team routinely receives referrals from hospitals within Dundee, GP practices, other health and social care providers, third sector providers and self-referrals from clients.
You will be expected to hold a diverse caseload, which includes clients with a range of diagnoses. We use an individualised rehabilitation approach to promote independence and quality of life, linking with statutory and third sector services to ensure a holistic approach.
You will provide a supportive role to your Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy colleagues working within Community Rehabilitation team.
You must have an understanding of the role of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy and have experience of working in a health or social care setting.
You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
In line with the evidence base and the strategic direction of NHS Tayside, the Allied Health Professions will be moving towards 7 day working. This is for improved patient outcomes and to maximise a person-centred equitable approach to care.
Therefore, all new contracts for AHP staff will be for a 5 out of 7 days service / rota to enable the service to be ready to move to a safe and effective 7 day service.
