With a new Head, Mr Guy Musson, having joined the School in August 2023, Orwell Park is at an exciting point in its development with the implementation of a new strategic plan. The Head and Governors are now seeking to appoint a high-calibre Director of Finance who will work alongside the Head and the Governors to help the School realise its ambitions to remain as a market-leading and thriving standalone prep school. Reporting to the Head, the Director of Finance will lead the financial operations of the School, responsible for overseeing financial planning and budgeting, and developing and implementing effective financial strategies in response to the macro challenges facing the independent schools sector.
The successful candidate will be strategically minded with excellent commercial and financial acumen. They will need to have previously led and managed a multi-disciplinary team and will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills. Prior experience of working in a school environment is not essential and applications are welcomed from a range of professional backgrounds. Those applying from other charitable organisations or the commercial sectors will have a strong interest in the education and aspirations of young people, along with a commitment to support the School’s educational aims and values, as part of the wider Orwell Park community.
