An exciting opportunity has arisen for a QC Technician for a fixed term of 12 months, which will play a vital role in the component qualification process.
We are seeking a QC Technician to join our team and report directly to the Lead QC Lab Engineer, ensuring quality is consistently maintained in TDK-Lambda UK products.
To undertake duties for the support of inspecting incoming parts, verifying documentation, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards, identifying and recording defects, conducting measurements and tests, generating first article reporting of samples. Communication to relevant stakeholders including but not limited to Quality Control, Design Assurance, R&D, Production and Finance. Managing non-conformances, supporting corrective actions, and maintaining accurate quality records to ensure supplied materials meet required quality and reliability standards. All tasks require high levels of attention to detail.
Main Job Functions
· Evaluation of Supplier Quality
· Evaluation of In-house Component Quality and Workmanship meets company requirements / expectations.
· Ability to analyze and create assessment reports, Including component FAI (QC Report) and component sampling feedback reporting.
· Provide technical support on mechanical component issues for approved sub-contractors and UK Purchasing and Quality Control.
· Assist in coordinating component failure analysis, reporting findings to QC and Design Assurance tracking trends and issues, supporting investigations to resolve failures in both new and existing products.
· Ensure relevance of existing documentation is maintained and remains correct and transparent.
· Aid in the supplier selection and assessment, ensuring compliance with specified component requirements
· Ability to measure and electrically test where relevant i.e. re-ageing testing, inductance testing of existing and new components.
· Reporting to and use of company PLM and iOLAP, RoHS Database, Element 9 (TLJ Database for global quality reporting).
· Regular reporting to Purchasing, Logistics & Finance on component qualification and approval status
· To assist customer (Assurance Engineering) when undertaking flagged deliveries in line with procedures.
· Assist QC Engineer(s) as and when required with the inspection of finished product samples prior to customer release.
· Ensure coordination with MED Dept in terms of maintenance records inspections of laboratory equipment.
Job Requirements
· 3+ years of Electronics Manufacturing or similar experience essential
· Level of technical knowledge BTEC/ONC desirable (not essential) in an engineering discipline
· 3-5 GCSE's including Math's and English.
· Good knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, Word to effectively report and communicate on quality matters.
· Full training will be given.
For external applicants this will be a fixed term contract for an initial period of 12-months after which time the role could be extended or made permanent depending on the needs of the business. For internal applicants this will be considered as a secondment, after which time they can return to their current role.
Full training will be given in this role and this is a Grade 4 position working a 37.50 hours week as below.
Hours of work:
Monday to Thursday – 7.45am to 4.30pm
Friday 7.45 am – 12.15 noon.
