CONTRACT TYPE: PERMANENT
HOURS OF WORK: Average 33.6 hour per week following shift pattern, 12 hours days and nights
SALARY: £19.11 per hour, £33,396.48 per year

A vacancy has arisen for a Supervisor, to join our team at the Port of Tyne.
The Supervisor role exists to supervise and manage operational activities, deploying a team of multifunctional and cleaning operatives at the Port of Tyne Biomass handling facility.
The role briefly encompasses the following duties:-
1. Responsible for safe and efficient deployment of all operational personnel
2. Ability to collate all relevant information to record and submit in a timely manner, Shift reports, running routes, standard reports, and train loading information. (Ensuring information is accurate)
3. Industrial cleaning support across shifts when required
4. Operating plant & equipment to allow seamless discharge, storage, monitoring and reloading/moving of biomass wood pellets
5. Ensuring Job cards are suitable for the work to be carried out and that individuals understand the works to be carried out under the Work Order Card and associated Risk Assessment and Method Statement
6. Constantly review tasks and Review Risk assessments, Generate Risk assessments if required
7. Liaising with the Port teams
8. Planning and executing operational activities to ensure KPI’s are achieved
9. Ability to make decisions and deal with unplanned events
10. Evaluation and closing out Work Order Cards plus the recording of all information
11. Raising defects
12. Operate site Vehicles and to complete relevant documentation
13. Carry out site audits
14. Inspection and monitoring of site ensuring Health and Safety procedures are being adhered to
15. Continually look for ways to improve service
16. Carry out inductions with contractors and visitors
17. Communication with Supervisors, Site Manager/Health & Safety Manager and the client representatives regarding any incidents
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience/ attributes:-
18. Experience of supervising & managing teams
19. COMPEX certificate (Desirable)
20. Experience working within ATEX zones
21. IOSH Managing Safely
22. Positive attitude to safety
